If that's not motivating, nothing is Intriguing fact of the day: a Google search for "fish bits" turns up this category: Business > Human Resources > Employee Relations > Motivation and Rewards Background story of the day: The last few days have been filled with attempts to name Todd's two new kittens, coming home tomorrow. Lester Fishbits is in contention for the runty tom, after one of many weirdos who comes to my store. The human Lester Fishbits (whose real name is Charlie) used to volunteer at the bread counter, until he was asked to leave and not come back because he was giving bread away at random prices, haranguing customers about Food Not Bombs and the evil dehumanization of capitalism, and trying to steal food from the hot bar. In effect, he is exactly the kind of almost-lovable nut who deserves to have a cat named after his alter ego. Other names in contention, besides Lester and Delilah Fishbits, are Rufus & Martha [Wainwright] and Beauregard & Lulabelle [No-Last-Name]. 7 Jan 2002 at 02:51 PM
Comments For kitten names, I'd suggest Ursa and Non, but that, I suspect, is a reference almost no one will get, because I had to look it up myself. Oh, well, I suppose a few people will get it now that I included that link. Says tODD That's hilariously funny. But Todd found the suggestion only amusing, not compelling. And having had the cats for a day now, I think the names do not suit them. They are far too joyful, friendly, and spazzy for names belonging to coolly intellectual aliens. We have already told the kiddies... er, kitties... about their long-lost aunt, Lord Zod from Planet Houston. Says Christy Post a comment |
