The heady effect of holding something you actually created with your bare hands, something that used to exist only in your head, is very addictive.

So far I have a skirt and a coffee table to show for my efforts over the Christmas break. After these 2 minor -- but incontrovertible -- success, I am making plans for the well-equipped tool shed that will be part of My Perfect Home (you know, where the Great Big Tender Dog can take naps in the afternoon), as well as my state-of-the-art kitchen and a sewing room. The Home will also have corners for hand-papermaking and cheesemaking, two obsessions that I come by honestly.

Feeling crafty lately. Yes. There's a little shiverous thrill in passing over, however briefly, from consumer to producer in the world of Things.
