Up at what time?

I might try to become a morning person. Todd is right -- it's a pretty productive period of the day. Nighttime is productive for me as well, but there's always an unpleasant sense of urgency and desperation. "Must... finish... before... morning."

At the moment, I have an assignment due in less than 4 hours. But hey, no sweat. It's still early.

Maybe it's that I'm an avowed evening person (at times to the point of coming close to being a morning person), but I don't really get it.

I mean, how is there also not a sense of urgency in getting things done in the morning? I assume that you have stuff you want or need to do later in the day.

So in effect, being a morning person puts you that much closer to whatever deadline you might be facing, if it's the same day. At least when you're a night person, should you really be cutting it close, you can always stay up and continue through the morning. Or at least I can. Some people don't like it, of course.

Of course, if you're doing things on a morning in which nothing is due later in the day, then that's all fine and good, but that's just planning ahead, and says little about whether morning or evening is better.

Perhaps we're thinking of different tasks, deadlines, and daytime situations.

Perhaps I am simply grouchy from too many late nights.
